What can i do, i have no enamel on my teeth at all?

When I first started growing in teeth after the baby teeth fell out, Everyone noticed that I have no enamel on my teeth at all and they are very small then the usual size of teeth. My brother also has this problem, and my dad when he was younger, he had to get all of his teeth pulled and now has false dentures. I haven't been to a dentist since I was about 9, now im 16. I don't know what to do. Will I just have to get them capped? pulled? help please! Thank you.

go on GOOGLE and look up the image of "emelogenesis imperfecta" and see if that is what it is
Reply:If you had no enamel, you would not have teeth. That is what teeth are made of. Go to a dentist.
Reply:You will most likely just have to get them capped, unless you have a cavity. A cavity tooth will be pulled and a capped "fake" tooth will be put in. I doubt that you will have to have dentures just yet, maybe when your 60, but not now.

Reply:I had that too. I don't remember it, but I had all of my baby teeth pulled when I was 3 because they were so rotten. I do remember having no teeth until I was going on 9 tho.Then when I finally got my adult teeth, which I was starting to think would never happen, they were small and sort of brownish yellow instead of nice and white. They started to rot out almost right away and had pieces breaking off and they started to crumble. We didn't have insurance and couldn't afford to get them fixed so I started having them pulled when I was 10. I got my first set of false teeth for my 14th birthday after going toothless(again) for 3 months. Some people might think it's terrible to have all of my teeth pulled out at that age, but it was the only thing my family could afford to do to help my situation. My teeth hurt all the time and they were falling apart. I had to do something that was affordable and lasting, so that's what we decided to do. A lot of my family has false teeth or no teeth so I was expecting to have no teeth when I was very young. I never been sorry I decided to get my teeth pulled out and get false teeth even tho I don't wear them a lot of the time. I'd rather go toothless permanently than be stuck with teeth like I had. My bf doesn't mind me being toothless when I'm around home or any other time, so the fact that I have no teeth has never been a problem for us. I should tell you tho that every guy I dated wasn't that understanding, just so you know incase you're thinking of getting false teeth. I had all of my teeth pulled and got a whole new set for less than the price of fixing 3 teeth with root canals and crowns. BTW, check out what GoldenAngel said on google. I remember hearing the dentist say that when he was talking to my mom about my situation.
Reply:Amelogenesis imperfecta has been suggested above. This is a possibility, altho it also affects the baby teeth, and you have not made mention of this. It is also a rare disorder, and I have never seen a case myself in 25 years. It would have been apparent to your dentist when you saw him at 9 years old, so I find this a curious point too.


Therefore, this may be the wrong lead, and the only way to find out a true diagnosis is to go and see a dentist.
