Do you have fillings or false teeth?

They fill my mouth, so they must be fillings, at times they %26#039;lie%26#039; in a glass, so they must be false, now I am confused.

i have fillings on my molers and caps on my front teeth theyre a pain coz u keep needing to get them re done and im scared :(

Crowns shouldn%26#039;t %26#039;keep needing to be redone%26#039;... they should last quite a while without incident.

the crowns i have i%26#039;ve had for quite some time now - going on 20 years for some. i DID loose one but it%26#039;s becuase i didn%26#039;t take care of the tooth underneath and out it popped! that%26#039;s one of the implants now!!
Reply:I buy dental-strength, 35% carbamide peroxide gel on Amazon.com, which is MUCH cheaper than getting it from the dentist. I use that to bleach my teeth every six months--that%26#039;s not false teeth per se, but definitely %26#039;fake%26#039; nonetheless. I also have two composite fillings on my back teeth, and composite veneers on all of my front top teeth.





When you get a composite veneer, they put a layer of tooth-colored filling on top of the tooth to hide stains, correct chips or poorly shaped teeth, and the like. After the filling%26#039;s placed, it%26#039;s shaped and polished and to make it look shiny and toothy.





This procedure is also called bonding, but it veneering is more accurate in my case, since it was done to whole teeth, rather than a small part. Using composite for whole veneers is less common and heard of, so I figured an explanation was in due. :) It%26#039;s a shame, because it%26#039;s very cost-effective.





I%26#039;ve heard that composite stains easily and doesn%26#039;t last as long as metal, but I prefer it because it looks natural and tooth-colored. I%26#039;ve kept my teeth well brushed and whatnot, and my fillings have lasted me for six years without staining or discoloration, my veneers two.
