Does anyone here have false teeth? If so, how do you deal with them?

Practice, practice, practice. It takes time. If you sat down at a piano for the first time, you would not be playing classical music in a day. While I can not comment on the quality of your dentures, I can only hope that they are %26quot;just right%26quot; and that this is a matter of getting used to dentures.

Dentures are not a replacement for teeth. They are simply better than not HAVING teeth. They do take some patience on your part. You will have to start out with chewing smaller bites and trying to distribute the food a little to the left and a little to the right at the same time. You HAVE lost the taste of your food, because you have a lot of insulation in your mouth now. You probably taste half denture and half food. After a while, your sense of taste will return somewhat, but that too is an adjustment on your part.

I know that this is not very encouraging, but thousands of new denture wearers make the adjustments. If it takes a month or two, you will look back in a few years and say that it was hardly any time at all. It%26#039;s just difficult to accept that while you are learning to use dentures for the first time.

Consider going back to your dentist to try to work out some of the issues you are having - if you haven%26#039;t already. Sometimes, just a little trim here or there makes all the difference. Report It

Reply:I have false teeth and I am only 29 years old. You just take them out usually when you go to bed and soak them with cleaner. It%26#039;s alot getting used to but you won%26#039;t have to worry about any more tooth aches.
Reply:I%26#039;ve had false teeth on the top since I%26#039;m 30 I am now 65 and I have no trouble with them. They say the bottom ones are the hardest to get use to. When I first got them I felt everyone knew, But that was just me. I don%26#039;t usually use any adhesive, only when I%26#039;m going out to eat, just for security. I never take them out only to clean..
Reply:false teeth means acrylic denture.. which is artificial in nature.

cleaning it is very easy.. u will get some denture polishing agents...

its better once u consult a dentist.

but other than tht u will get suitable tooth pastes and brushes for false teeth... (colgate%26#039;s brand)... for daily use.
Reply:I did not, but my dad did and he had surgery before when he was younger, 35%26#039;ish for for a gum disease. He was OK for a while, then when he was in his late 50%26#039;s he had to have all his teeth pulled and was given dentures. I saw what he went through on the surgery on his gums, I would not do that now knowing what I say him go through and then end up with dentures anyway. Ask your dentist and he or she will tell you to have the surgery. I WILL NOT, JUST GET THE DENTURES, THAT IS WHAT IS AHEAD OF YOU.
Reply:I%26#039;ve had mine for almost 4 years now. I was eating fried chicken 4 days after I got them but they did take a while to get used too.I do use adhesives all the time and can%26#039;t stand to have them out for more than an hour.Of course everyone is different, getting them properly fitted in the first place is key.
