Without having false teeth or such
Is it possible to go from normal, slightly crooked teeth, to perfect white, straight "Hollywood Smile" teeth?
yes - but very expensive and can be painful
It is possible to have bleach applied to teeth but this can make them very sensitive.
You can also have teeth filed down and caps applied so that you have perfect looking teeth - I don't really fancy that!!
Or you could have a brace fitted - increasingly more popular with people in twenties and beyond who missed out on this when they were younger
Reply:Hi, I'm a dentist.
I'm not sure what you mean, exactly, by "false teeth or such". In order to transform a smile, many procedures are available. The least invasive would be veneers or lumineers, but if teeth are too maligned, orthodontics may be necessary. Also, if teeth are too badly stained and/or decayed, full coverage crowns may be necessary.
Each case must be individually treatment planned. There is really no way I can give you the answer you are looking for without evaluating the patient personally.
Sorry.
Reply:yes! Ignore the dentist he/she wants your money! Crest whitening strips are great I got some when I was last in Florida and what a difference. My teeth were a bit minging to say the least, lots of coffee and nicotine stains and my liking for red wine didn't help. Anyway I have now discovered you can buy them on ebay for about £15.00. I think they are Americas best kept secret! having my teeth white also made me stop smoking as I wanted to keep them good and although I've not quite ditched the coffee I've changed to white wine. As for straightening you will need a dentist for braces but crooked teeth and gaps can bring lots of character to a smile:-)
Reply:You need to have a dentist assess the problem to give you an answer to your question. Sometimes a brace is needed to straighten teeth but that depends on how misaligned the teeth are.
Veneers or crowns are another way of achieving a nice white smile...my daughter had veneers done and the effect was amazing (on the NHS too !)
The best thing to do is see your dentist and discuss the options with him. Good luck
Reply:absolutely!!!
